OXACELL® AG - regenerative therapies utilizing adult, mesenchymal stem cells
The concept of regenerative medicine is based on the functional recovery of normal (body) function by replacing or regenerating cells, tissues or organs. To achieve this, natural mechanisms of the body are embraced. Adult stem cells intended for regenerative purposes reside within every mature human being. Adult mesenchymal stem cells are endogenous precursor cells that can specialize into various cell types to replace damaged tissue whenever necessary. Furthermore, they possess anti-inflammatory properties and produce cellular messengers (cytokines and growth factors) that stimulate the body’s own regeneration and repair processes. Thus, mesenchymal stem cells facilitate a holistic healing process.

At OXACELL®, we develop state-of-the-art therapies and medicinal products on the basis of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells. The high content of potent stem cells and the low risk during harvesting renders adipose tissue an ideal source of stem cells.
These stem cells are ideally suited for autologous therapies (donor = recipient), e.g. the treatment of arthrosis, muscle, ligament and tendon injuries as well as other joint complaints. Additionally, they can be utilized in a allogeneic setting (donor ≠ recipient) due to their immune-modulating and anti-inflammatory properties. Possible indications include liver disease (acute liver failure, cirrhosis) as well as autoimmune disease such as multiple sclerosis, lupus or type 1 diabetes.
